Job Description – Maintenance Department Helper Reports to – Maintenance Manager 1.) What They Do: • Perform routine and daily preventative maintenance on production and facility equipment as assigned • Assist maintenance mechanics in major repairs and overhauls as assigned • Be able to detail clean the maintenance shop and auxiliary building areas • Must have mechanical aptitude for any/ all minor repairs as assigned • Be able to drive a forklift and manlift safely and within company testing standards • Assist in equipment installations and modifications as assigned • Maintain a clean and safe work environment. • Work independently, as well as part of a team, to complete necessary work in order to support production. • Assist on assigned projects as needed. • Follow all safety and quality rules and regulations. • Follow all cGMP procedures( current good manufacturing practices) 2.) Why They Do It: • The maintenance department is a service group instituted to support the entire plant personnel in the execution of the plant’s goals and objectives. Through the maintenance department efforts, the plant is able to produce its products in a safe, quality manner. Additionally, the maintenance department is directly related to the success of achieving the highest possible efficiencies. 3.) What Does It Mean To Food Safety: • Ensures that the maintenance department is supported to prevent the contamination of the food product with foreign matter. • Maintains the building infrastructure to ensure pest infestation is prevented. • Ensures the quality of the food product by maintaining environmental requirements and food contact processes in the best possible condition.
